Wrenched across dimensional barriers, Mystic finds herself "rescued" by enigmatic multiverse travelers Mentor and Iron Clad, who unveil to her a tapestry of infinite realities beyond her comprehension. Meanwhile, the Victory Force grows increasingly desperate as The Man in Black defies physics itself, materializing in multiple locations simultaneously and leaving only devastation as his calling card. Frantic over his protégé's sudden disappearance, Dr. Magic reluctantly summons his estranged brother Vladimir—the vampiric "King of the Blood Corpse"—to merge their opposing magics of light and shadow. But their uneasy alliance crumbles when The Man in Black descends upon them with unholy fury, forcing a beaten Dr. Magic to retreat as the true scale of their enemy's power becomes horrifyingly clear.
