Riccardo Federici
Riccardo Federici is an Italian comic book artist born in Rome, known for his refined draftsmanship and expressive storytelling. After graduating from art school, he studied architecture at La Sapienza University while also exploring psychology, a background that informs the depth and structure of his visual work. Before breaking into comics, Federici created anatomical drawings, children’s comics, and advertising illustrations, developing a versatile artistic foundation.
His major breakthrough came in 2008 with La Madone de Pellini, created with writer François Rivière for publisher Robert Laffont. In 2012, he illustrated Saria for Delcourt, continuing Jean Dufaux’s Les Enfers series originally developed with Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri. Beyond comics, Riccardo Federici is also an accomplished oil painter and sculptor, further expanding his creative range across fine art disciplines.
